The Shepherd-Psalm 23

Elder Beal,
I return to work tomorrow, but this final week was packed. We enjoyed a picnic in the park with the Judd's and Jarvie's. Jodi took pictures on Amber's phone. I'm sure Karlita will send you one. Went on splits with the sisters twice this week. Once, a no show, second time we watched the hour long movie about the restoration. I love and learn something new each time I see it. The temple is that way too!
Dad and I celebrated 21 years on Friday. The tradition of going to the temple as close to our anniversary as possible continues. It was so lovely and we were invited to be the witness couple which made it all the more sweet. Again, I came out with more questions to study and ponder. Afterwards, my parents took us out to Red Lobster where Malachi ordered an enormous meal!
Yesterday, a couple was baptized in our ward. It was so neat to see 20+ members of their family present to witness this ordinance, even though it was not their faith. Their son wants to be baptized by his dad so he is waiting a few weeks for him to receive the priesthood. Really great family!
Tuesday Malachi will turn 11!!!
Donavaghn comes home on Wednesday, time is flying right by!  Your year mark is right around the corner!!
Dad made this super cool Tim Allen style scrubber for me. I feel like I have superhero powers in cleaning the tub, shower, and toilets now. It's awesome!
I included a picture of the Portland temple from LDS.org. Dad and I were sealed for time and all eternity there 20 years ago today. I was expecting you, Christian was being sealed to us and as we were walking up the stairs inside the temple to the sealing room, he saw a picture of Angel Moroni when he appeared to Joseph Smith on Hill Comorah with the Golden Plates, he looked at the picture then up to my eyes and said fervently while placing his hand on my belly, "Mom this is a boy, and his name is Moroni."
Always live worthy to enter the temple and no blessing Heavenly Father has for you will be withheld.
I love you,
Mom

Hey sweet Momma,
This week has been a long and big week it was a new transfer and my companion Elder Lords left, last night actually. We stayed up til 1 getting his things together so I'm kinda tired. He is going to the islands, which I'm jealous of, to be a Zone leader. I'm going to pick up my new companion today, from Madrid. He's got about 7 months in and his name is Elder Walker. He seems like a good kid and I'm excited to be with him. And I got a new calling. Practically every one here is new so I think that we're going to have some fun. You and Dad look so good together, I'm so happy that you guys have done everything according to God's will so that we can be together forever. I miss you all a lot and I won't believe how fast the time will fly when I'm walking through the that airport terminal to see you all again. I love you guys so much.
Moroni

"I once heard President Hugh B. Brown relate this inspiring story: Sometime ago a great actor in the city of New York gave a wonderful performance in a large theatre, at the close of which there were rounds of applause. He was called back again and again. Finally someone called to him, “Would you do for us the Twenty-third Psalm?      “Why, yes. I know the Twenty-third Psalm.”
He recited it as an actor would, perfectly, with nothing left to be desired as far as a performance was concerned. When he was finished, again there was thunderous applause. Then the actor came to the front of the stage and said: “Ladies and gentlemen, there is an old man sitting here on the front row whom I happen to know. I am going to ask him without any notice if he will come and repeat the Twenty-third Psalm.”
The elderly gentleman, of course, was frightened. Trembling, he came to the stage. Fearfully he looked out over the vast audience. Then, as though he were at home only with one, he closed his eyes against the audience, bowed his head, and talked to God, and said:
“The Lord is my shepherd: I shall not want.
“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
“He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”
Then changing to address the Savior directly and intimately:
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
“Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil: my cup runneth over.
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” [Ps. 23:1–6]
When the old man finished, there was no applause, but there was not a dry eye in that house. The actor came to the front of the stage. He, too, was wiping his eyes. And he said, “Ladies and gentlemen, I know the words of the Twenty-third Psalm, but this man knows the Shepherd.”

I want to come to know the savior more and more in my life and I know if at least we try, we can and will know him. I love y'all.
