I have had the worst email trouble lately, I am hoping you got my email last week! Know that I love you and am proud of you! Malachi and I picked blackberries and made jam. Super delish! We are so blessed to have them growing wild and roadside all over Southern Oregon. Is there anything native that grows all over Spain?
Sariah bought a bike this summer, it is tres chic and turquoise. Totally adorable. Anyway, her and Malachi have been going on nightly rides. One night this week might have been a bit too dark so that he didn't see a big rock in his path, the end result being that the handlebars left their mark on his torso. He is tough stuff!
This is my final week of summer vacation:( The kids have a few more weeks, lucky ducks! Hopefully, we will have a get together with Karlita's family in the next few days. She is home this week. It was wonderful to see her at church today, her smile is so bright and lovely.
I have REALLY enjoyed studying Alma 36-40 the past few weeks. The father blessings, admonitions, and teaching moments he shares with his boys are so tender and yet a very powerful discourse on the gospel.
Our Savior is central to God's plan. There is no other way. I was able to go out with the Sister missionaries twice this week to assist with lessons. It is always great to bear testimony of His love for us individually. Of course some are more prepared to hear it than others. Do members of your ward attend lessons with you sometimes?
Dad and I will celebrate 21 years this Friday. Can you believe he has put up with me for so long? ;) I must be the luckiest girl ever! I love you and continually pray for your work.
Love,
Mom
Hey Mom,
Malachi's scars remind me of when I was a little kid and of all the times I wrecked on my bike. It's funny how small things like that bring me back. In my eyes Malachi has always been a tough kid, growing up with three older sisters is a battle, he has always followed me in whatever I did. Back then I wasn't that example worth following. I hope that he can forget that old Moroni and follow the new. I now know that the only thing that I want in life is the next, with my family and friends. The Devil steals the hearts of a lot of people in this world and they don't even know it, I didn't even know it. Thank you mom for showing me the way, and for always having a firm testimony in the gospel, you and dad have saved my life. This week I was reading in the institute book for the New Testament and I felt strongly to study Mathew chapter 25 about the parables of the 10 Virgins, the Talents and the Sheep and the Goats. It was really good and I really liked this.
Consider the three parables found in Matthew chapter 25. How does each of the following help us prepare to meet the Lord? (1) Doing things that invite the Holy Spirit into our lives. (2) Doing good with the gifts and opportunities the Lord has given us. (3) Caring for those around us who are in need.
In those three simple steps we can live the gospel and be prepared to meet Jesus Christ at that final day and and he will greet us and call us blessed. (Enos 1: 27)
This week has been awesome and I have been really thinking about home I love you and the family. I hope you enjoy your last last couple weeks of summer.
Moroni
