Sending much love your way from all of us! We LOVE you so much!!! I hope you are doing well. Now that you and your new companion have been together for a couple of weeks, how are things going? What is his name? Was he already established in the area, or are you both new the the place? What is your housing like? Are in in a branch or a ward? Do you still do chapel tours? Have you many chances to serve anyone? Anybody in your teaching pool?
We just got home from a double baptism, they both chose to get baptized on Valentine's to show their love for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. They were not related, it was really a powerful ceremony. Kenny is Wayne Ogle's brother and Juanita is the deaf investigator I was telling you about. She is really sweet and kind and is just soaking up the gospel like a sponge. Kenny seems like a neat guy and I am looking forward to getting to know him better.
Collin spent the weekend here and he is really genuine and has a good heart. He reminds me a little of you, sweet and helpful. Michaela Jarvie is getting married this coming weekend. I sent the missing necklace I bought Karly for Christmas for Valentine's. We had taco's at grandmas and made a couple of goofy videos for you which I will send in a separate email. Today was a regional Stake Conference, Elder Renlund from the quorum of the twelve spoke to us along with a couple of others from the seventy. Our Stake has set some goals around the temple.
1. Be worthy of a personal temple recommend.
2. Family History, take at least one family name through the temple this year.
3. Attend the temple as a family-schedule family baptisms.
4. Increase frequency of current temple attendance. We decided as a family to accept the challenge and focus on temples this year.
Elder Renlund was funny. His message in a nutshell is basically that the gospel questions cannot be explained by reasons of the world but only by sharing our testimony of the first vision. So when we are asked why we keep the word of wisdom, we should not use medical studies to back any health claims. We should share the story of the first vision and explain that since that time many revelations have come forth and this is one of them. We will never convince anyone with worldly knowledge but the spirit will do all the convincing if we will bear witness. The other thing that really stuck out to me was from J Hamula of the seventies, he said that in every example in the scriptures when someone was going through tribulation the Savior always said something along the lines of "be of good cheer, be not afraid". So the phrase BE OF GOOD CHEER rung out loud and clear to me and I will strive to remember that as my personal motto.
We love you so very much. Looking forward to hearing from you.
J'Taime toujours,
