El Plan de Salvacíon

 Hey Momma
This week has been super good! We had lots of good lessons this week. I could really feel the spirit while I was in them. We have a new investigator se llama Nerí Ella Es de the Dominican Republic the people here are really nice especially the members the weather here is really nice. I had the opportunity to give 3 blessings to people this week, in Spanish it was really hard but I kept it short and sweet. I love our investigators so much their testimonies are so strong and I can really tell that they are progressing. I'm so glad that you are my mom and that support me in every thing that I do. I am so glad for El Plan de Salvacíon. I'm grateful that we have Prophets on this earth that have the priesthood and scriptures. I know that I am a son of God and he loves me and wants me to come back and live with him. I miss you guys a ton and I loved the package! Elder Beal

Elder Beal,
We got you last email on a Wednesday, what beautiful pictures of Spain! Going there someday is on my bucket list for sure! Our house is a wreck! Since dad replaced the heating and gave us an air conditioning system, we which we love, we had to take out all the old heaters and their matching thermostats. That left our home with 22 holes plus the hidden ones behind the couch and bookshelf that needed to be patched. The guy came on Tuesday and Wednesday to patch all of them. Now we are painting everyday. This affects every room in the house, it is a workout!!  I was able to match the green paint in the living and dining room. Malachi's is almost the same a slightly lighter shade of grey. Sariahs is baby blue on all four walls.  The laundry is a pale yellow and Camilla has two walls painted a pale rose with two more to go. Nauvoo is going to paint hers completely white tomorrow. Everything from every room is shoved to the center to have free access to all the walls.  It reminds me of our spiritual reconstruction that needs to take place within each of us as we try to become more like the Savior. It doesn't happen over night as much as I wish that were true. We make errors and learn from them as we go. It is a bit painful at times. Sometimes we need help from others. The end result is beautiful, fresh and clean- free from any blemishes. Though new ones will come, this process can be repeated over and over until we make it home.  You are out there trying to let people know that they have a Father in Heaven who loves them. He loves them so much he devised a perfect plan for us to be able to return through us using the atonement of Jesus Christ. The Holy Ghost can be our companion to become sanctified and become more like the Savior. This is a gospel of HOPE. Satan would try to destroy that, but we have already won if we simply stick with it. Never lose hope. Not on investigators. Not on family. Not on yourself. Hope is key. Next allow it to work in God's time and trust his timing.  I love you so much and am really lucky to be your mom.

Karly

All my love to Karly for sharing the following email and pictures from Moroni, Thanks!-Kimberly

Hey my sweet Karlita today has been awesome and we did a lot of things! We went to Congas and hiked around a bunch of areas near the ocean it was so beautiful and I really got to get away from everything, it was a good break! On the way back we couldn't get a bus until seven tonight so we had to walk, about 6 miles so that we can take a ferry right back to Vigo. It leaves in about 7 minutes. So now we are going home and going to have a great night with one of the members! We are doing a talent show and we have a big funny activity. I love you so much and I think about you more and more every day! You are my best friend and I'm so happy for all the sweet thinks that you do for me! I should get your package soon it is in Santiago right now I love you baby and your Spanish is really improving.! I will try to send pictures and I hope that this gets to you! I love you Karly

Haircut Needed-I'll go send me!

      Hey momma,
This past week was really awesome, we did a lot of awesome things and we had some pretty good lessons! Our best lesson was with Carlos, we taught him Ayuno y Diezmo he was really wanting to change so he gave fifty euros in Diezmo to our church he said that he will never change religions but he is slowly changing to Mormonism. I love all those pictures so much and I'm so very grateful to be here in Spain to serve God and bring his Hijos to the gospel of Jesus Christ! Thank you for every thing and for being with me on this earth! And I need a haircut! Love y'all! Chow Pescado as the Cubans say!! Moroni!
By the way we went to Congas today and it was really cool! I'll tell more next week!

Does anybody think I could get away with a quick trip to the beautiful Vigo, Spain to serve a lowly missionary in need of a haircut?-Kimberly :)

That is really cool that you found a Spanish copy like yours of the BOM.  This year is so wonderful that we are studying from it in Primary.  I am also studying in my BYUI-Pathway class.  It has been a real pleasure to implement new study skills into my scripture reading that take my learning to a whole new level.  I found this gem of a truth in my studies last week:
President Ezra Taft Benson explained how the scriptures can be a powerful way to bless us and answer the difficult questions of life: “Often we spend great effort in trying to increase the activity levels in our stakes. We work diligently to raise the percentages of those attending sacrament meetings. We labor to get a higher percentage of our young men on missions. We strive to improve the numbers of those marrying in the temple. All of these are commendable efforts and important to the growth of the kingdom. But when individual members and families immerse themselves in the scriptures regularly and consistently, these other areas of activity will automatically come. Testimonies will increase. Commitment will be strengthened. Families will be fortified. Personal revelation will flow” (“The Power of the Word,” Ensign, May 1986, 81).
Like the people who were with Moses and refused or neglected to look upon his staff because it seemed to simple to work, today the people neglect to make effort to study their scriptures, it appears to simple but it is a most powerful tool to help us return.

All the kids send their love and they sent me way too many pictures to include in this email, so I will choose just a sampling to share with you today.  The pictures you send of Spain are so incredibly beautiful!  I would love for you to give me a tour there someday!  Today I saw a young man snuggle up to his mom during Sacrament and it reminded me of you. Even though you are both taller than your moms you never neglect to show your love.  Thank you for always being gentle and kind.  I love you.

Hey y'all,
My week has been really good and I have done lots of cool things! The best part was when we had a parade come down one of the central parts of Vigo right by the church, it was kind of weird, the people in it were just different, it was for 3 Kings Day, I'll send some photos and quizas un video! We have a birthday that we are going to today and it should be a good time! Hicimos ínter cambios and I had a ton of fun! Me and Elder Hale. Comimos Jamón and it was Pretty bomb¡ I love reading the scriptures every day for and hour I definitely want to guardar eso en mi vida! My favorite couple of scriptures for this week have been in 2 Nephi 25: 12-14, 19

12 But, behold, they shall have wars, and rumors of wars; and when the day cometh that the Only Begotten of the Father, yea, even the Father of heaven and of earth, shall manifest himself unto them in the flesh, behold, they will reject him, because of their iniquities, and the hardness of their hearts, and the stiffness of their necks.

13 Behold, they will crucify him; and after he is laid in a sepulchre for the space of three days he shall rise from the dead, with healing in his wings; and all those who shall believe on his name shall be saved in the kingdom of God. Wherefore, my soul delighteth to prophesy concerning him, for I have seen his day, and my heart doth magnify his holy name.

14 And behold it shall come to pass that after the Messiah hath risen from the dead, and hath manifested himself unto his people, unto as many as will believe on his name, behold, Jerusalem shall be destroyed again; for wo unto them that fight against God and the people of his church.

19 For according to the words of the prophets, the Messiah cometh in six hundred years from the time that my father left Jerusalem; and according to the words of the prophets, and also the word of the angel of God, his name shall be Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

I loved that Nephi knew the name of the Son of God almost 600 years before his birth.
The Power of revelation is real and if we pray and have enough faith and it is right in the sight of God then we can be like Enos and we can know the meanings of all things!
I really love it here and I want to try harder an be better every day! It's really hard to be here away from everything but I can tell that God is with me and he loves me and that he makes me feel clean every week. I love you guys and I am so happy that I was able to come down to this earth  to learn and grow with y'all. With love Tú Hijo Amado, Moroni

Elder Beal,
I am sorry for the hard time Evie is going through, Satan is so sneaky and likes to trip us up.  She will remain in my prayers for awhile.  I love the prayer of Alma when he is distressed during his missionary work among the Zoramites.  It is found in Alma 31.  His prayer is specifically verses 26-35 but his astonishment and anguish are prelude those verses.  What I love the most is the two verses after his prayer, he is given a priesthood blessing and the Lord strengthens him and his companions and their sorrow is lost in the joy of Christ. Sometimes, I feel that I can relate as a parent to his situation as a missionary.  I am sure there are times that you can relate very closely with Alma in this situation.  When times are difficult, it is great to get lost in the joy of Christ. From Him comes the greatest peace available.

Nauvoo was able to tend a couple of Sister Marshall's grandsons yesterday and she saw this sign and added her name to it.  This brought a huge smile to her face.  I thought I would share it with you.

Inline image 2Were you able to get Karly's package out of being held hostage at customs? I still haven't really made head or tails of the new shipping requirement.  Would it be better to simply send small envelopes like letters?  Do those go to the mission address or the one you write at the end of your emails?  When I look up your address from the last email on Google Earth, I see a lot of graffiti. I did not expect that because I am always so impressed with how clean Spain is in all the pictures you send.  You must be selective, I guess in what you want me to see.  Plus the mini cars are a cool kind of funky.  I know you are my pyro child, and everybody here loves to see those videos, but please don't get sent home for torching the place. :)  I m pretty sure our church is not the hell fire preaching kind of church ;) Nor do I think that is what is meant in the phrase baptism by fire.  Was is a holiday penguin? Poor creature, who am I to say that~ I drug a cat home all the way from Foothills, it took your dad 15 minutes the next morning to dig it out of my front bumper, glad it wasn't a skunk!
We love and miss you, time flies by fast, you are already past three months! Your cousin Soren comes home from his mission in Australia this month.
Love,
Mom

Then he sent pictures of his Pisa (apartment)~
Which were way nicer than what I found on Google Earth :) but the car was plainer :) Mine had better graffiti too!

Crazy Truth

This week has been pretty good, I loved New Year's~ however they don't pop them they eat them (In our Christmas phone call he mentioned that they were invited to pop grapes on New Year's) we ate with this guy Pablo Garcia, he's from Uruguay, and it was interesting but it was fun! This week I did another exchange with Elder Jones, my District leader had a lot of fun and we ate some good food. Yeah Evie and Kim they don't want to meet with us anymore and they do not want to come to church either. Evie got in an argument with her mom over the break about the church, so it's been kind of a bummer. But we aren't giving up we are praying and fasting for her! I have been reading a lot in the Book of Mormon I have had a big desire to read it in my mission I am starting to really love it! Here is some of the verses that really liked and want to teach about!
                                                                      Moroni 8: 11-13
11 And their little children need no repentance, neither baptism. Behold, baptism is unto repentance to the fulfilling the commandments unto the remission of sins.
12 But little children are alive in Christ, even from the foundation of the world; if not so, God is a partial God, and also a changeable God, and a respecter to persons; for how many little children have died without baptism!
13 Wherefore, if little children could not be saved without baptism, these must have gone to an endless hell.
This really teaches that Heavenly Father is a just God and that he is a true God, I am glad for the the atonement that has been provided for me through Jesus Christ and I know I can by him be lifted up at the last day! I love you guys so much and I'm so thankful that I am here serving the Lord!

Yeah, we like to burn things
(That's my Eagle Scout!)
We must walk a lot...

We take our breaks when we can!

Woohoo It is a new year, a fresh start, I love that feeling.  I think that is why I love baptisms and partaking of the Sacrament so much, I NEED fresh starts, more importantly we all need strong finishes.  I love the way you applied Alma 56:46 to Earth life.  Heavenly Father has provided a way for us all to have a great strong finish. The Scripture I have posted up in the house this week to ponderize is 2 Nephi 32:3.   Angels speak by the power of the Holy Ghost; wherefore, they speak the words of Christ. Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do.
It is our scripture for the month of January in Primary as well.  Feast is such a powerful descriptive word, and like a Thanksgiving Feast, everybody still eats the very next day. Likewise we should not feast on Sunday then let our scriptures collect dust the rest of the week or only nibble here and there.  I also love the truth that angels are speaking to us, this causes me to ponder, am I in tune enough with the Holy Ghost to hear them? How can I improve that gift? or "What lack I yet?" from the last General Conference?  I LOVE that the Holy Ghost often answers with very personal, precise instruction.
The past two weeks have been so wonderful off work but vacation is over and back to work in the morning :)  I was able to refinish our kitchen table over break.  It was so horrible before, I am super pleased with the result.
It was also great to sit with Karlita at one of Nauvoo's basketball games to catch up and talk about church and future goals.
Dad keeps his motorcycle adventures going and is gearing up for his big adventure ride in August.  They will be doing Southern Utah for 11 days, he is really looking forward to this trip and deserves a break from all these years of endless work. The other day he came home and said you know I realized today that I am happy that I am able to work, it really is a joy and not drudgery. The scriptures also testify that work is for our blessing.  What goals do you or you and your companion have set for this week?
Speaking of hard workers, Brother Woods left us a kind Christmas voicemail and he said he "sure misses that Moroni, what a fine young man and hard worker you are."So keep working hard and smiling bright!  Your influence on this world is great.  I love you and am so proud of you.
